A Note from New Head Coach Brady Harrsion

Posted by Hawks Wrestling Club on Oct 01 2018 at 07:54AM PDT

Dear Lincoln Jr. Hawks Parents and Wrestlers,

I am excited to have the opportunity to take over the Lincoln Jr. Hawk wrestling program as head coach this year, and there are a lot of exciting things happening for our club for the 2018-2019 wrestling season. First off, a little more about myself. My name is Brady Harrison, but the kids call me Coach Brady, this will be my 13th year with the Jr. Hawk program as a coach. I wrestled at Lincoln Southwest High School under Coach Aaron Finley and Coach Dave Charroin, in my junior year Coach Dave asked if I would be able to stay after some practices to help the Jr. Hawks club. After I graduated high school I continued to come to practices to help and started coaching at tournaments during that time, that is where I found that passion for coaching and I was hooked. I coached as an assistant under coach Dave for many years and then under coach McLaughlin the last two years. This year I have been given the opportunity to become the head coach and it is something I am very much looking forward to.

Now that you know about more of my background, I want to tell you more about my coaching philosophies and the expectations that I have. I am a big believer in loving what you do and using that passion as a driving force in life. Coaching for me is a passion, I love to teach kids about not only the sport of wrestling but how you can use values from sports in your day to day life. We wrestle in two groups Green and Silver groups. Green group will be for younger kids and novice wrestlers to learn the basics about wrestling and build a passion for the sport. Silver Group will be for experienced wrestlers that will build on the passion they already have for the sport. No matter what group your wrestler is in, they are expected to put in hard work, show sportsmanship to other wrestlers/coaches/officials, and most import to have fun in what they are doing. My goal for every wrestler is to make improvements, that is not something that is measured in wins and losses or skills but in the effort that is shown during practice, tournaments and school.

Welcome to the Lincoln Jr. Hawks Wrestling Club family and I am very much looking forward to the 2018-2019 Lincoln Jr. Hawk Wrestling season and hope you are all as well.

Sincerely,

Brady Harrison

Head Coach Lincoln Jr. Hawks Wrestling Club
